So, one time I heard an awesome recording of a work by composer Kyle Gann, which was recorded using a Disklavier. Sometimes it just sounds unclear (wet/dry/reverb stuff I imagine.but still, not talented enough to correct it). I've got good ears, but I just don't have a fluency in tweeking levels to fix the stuff that's "off". Higher registers are piercing, I try to mix it all as best as I can, but I'm not yet an experienced mixer/masterer. I record/improv works sometimes using a Korg NanoKey 2 keyboard (super easy to play). I'm using Logic's "Steinway Piano Hall", trying to EQ it with settings like "Grand Piano EQ O2". I studied composition and piano, but I'm not interested in playing works and recording them. I'll link a few examples of what I'm talking about: I'm not exclusively contemporary classical, as a composer, but pretty much that's what I am and that's I'm looking for. Ok, so, I'm looking for the best possible piano sound and maybe I should describe what I'm looking for.
